Public Service Motivation in the Media

You are invited to take part in a research study entitled Public Service Motivation in the Media. This study is being conducted by Bjørn von Rimscha (University of Mainz, Germany), Denise Voci and Matthias Karmasin (University of Klagenfurt, Austria), Mercedes Medina (University of Navarra, Spain) and Miguel Crespo (University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal). You have been asked to take part in this study because you work for a media organization.

The purpose of this research is to understand the motivation of people working in the commercial media companies. If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire. This questionnaire will ask about your work motivation, orientation, and satisfaction and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

You may not benefit directly from this research, but we hope that your participation in the study will help us to understand the contribution media workers to the public good.

Before we can start, we need your consent.

The guidelines for good ethical research stipulate that participants in empirical studies must explicitly and comprehensibly agree to participate.

Voluntariness* Your participation in this study is voluntary. You are free to discontinue your participation at any time during this study without incurring any disadvantages.

Anonymity Your data is of course confidential, will only be evaluated in anonymized form and will not be passed on to third parties. Demographic information such as age or gender does not allow any clear conclusions to be drawn about your person.
